    Description

    Playbill for 1951 Broadway production of Black Chiffon with Dame Flora Robson. Written by Lesley Storm and directed by Charles Hickman. The day before her son's wedding his mother is caught shoplifting a black chiffon nightgown from a store and is told by a psychiatrist that she did it because she has an unnatural affection for her son. She chooses jail rather than having the psychiatrist's explanation be disclosed to anyone else. This was a long run comedy hit in London! 109 performances.
