Rosenthal Romance Rhapsody Blue Wiinblad Dessert Plate and bowl

Single dessert plate and bowl, Rosenthal Romance in Blue designed by Danish legend Bjorn Wiinblad with his characteristic whimsical roses. Excellent condition. Very little use with no noticeable wear.
Designed in the 60s, this was a breakthrough design with a minimal flat surface, without the traditional plate rim or well. To compensate, Wiinblad introduced an intricate relief design of concentric ovals and re-interpreted the traditional roses (so typical of old porcelains) in a modern whimsical loose style.
